International TaskForces

Hopsten, Germany.

Greatest possible concentration is required when every centimetre counts: the Arocs for loads of up to 250 tonnes slowly transports a heat accumulator measuring more than 20 metres in length through the tight historical town centre of Hopsten in Germany's North Rhine-Westphalia region.

Unusually heavy or wide transport tasks are nothing unusual for the residents of Hopsten. The village of just 7500 inhabitants is home to a company producing specialist containers and apparatus. The transport of these gigantically-sized and extremely heavy goods through the town draws in innumerable spectators from around the region – often with an atmosphere somewhat reminiscent of a village fête. As such haulage is more commonplace than a rarity in this town, most – if not all – of Hopsten's road signs can be quickly dismantled with just a few turns of hand.
